Nuggets 113, Raptors 110: Corey Brewer scored 19 points to pace six players in double figures and host Denver held off a late rally.
Denver seemingly had the game under control midway through the fourth quarter, but the Raptors used a 17-2 run and cut the lead to 105-104 on two free throws by Kyle Lowry with 2:18 remaining. Ty Lawson's 3-pointer at the 2:01 mark pushed the lead to four.
Andre Miller and Andre Iguodala each hit a pair of free throws, but 3-pointers by Lowry and Amir Johnson cut the lead to 112-110. Toronto still had a chance when Kenneth Faried split a pair of foul shots with 5.8 seconds left, but DeMar DeRozan missed a 3-pointer from the top of the key at the buzzer.
Lowry scored 24 points and Andrea Bargnani added 23 to lead Toronto. The Raptors, playing the opener of a five-game road trip, fell to 1-10 away from home. Faried scored 18 and had 10 rebounds for the Nuggets. JaVale McGee scored 17 points while Lawson added 16.
Toronto led for most of the first quarter until Denver took the lead for good, 23-22, on Brewer's dunk late in the quarter. The Nuggets pushed the lead to 47-32 on Koufos' dunk with 6:10 remaining before halftime.
GAME NOTEBOOK: F Mickael Pietrus, playing in his second game with Toronto was in the starting lineup and scored three points in 25 minutes. .... The Nuggets are 5-1 at home. ... McGee had six rebounds and five blocked shots.
