Lakers 122, Nuggets 103: Antawn Jamison scored a season-best 33 points and grabbed 12 rebounds while Dwight Howard had 28 and 20 as host Los Angeles cruised past Denver.
Jodie Meeks added 21 points and matched his career high by making seven 3-pointers as the Lakers went 17-for-33 from behind the arc and reached a season high for points while evening their record at 8-8.
Danilo Gallinari scored 19 points, Andre Iguodala added 14 and Jordan Hamilton contributed 13 for the Nuggets, who lost their third consecutive contest to fall a game below .500.
Howard had 16 points and five rebounds in a strong first-quarter showing as the Lakers rebounded from scoring just 77 points in Tuesday’s loss to the Indiana Pacers. Los Angeles built a 71-57 halftime lead and had 97 points entering the final quarter.
The lead was 102-82 after a 3-pointer by Meeks with 11:07 remaining. Kobe Bryant had just 14 points but dished out eight assists.
GAME NOTEBOOK: Howard drained a 3-pointer in the final seconds to improve his career accuracy rate from behind the arc to 2-of-34. … Denver is allowing an average of 111 points during its three-game skid. … Lakers F Pau Gasol had just six points and is averaging only 8.6 over the last five games.
